Snapchat has new AR shopping capabilities for fashion brands.  The augmented reality for the fashion industry is taking a big step forward.  Consumers can try on outfits by using augmented reality lenses.

According to Snapchat, "Since January of last year, more than 250 million Snapchatters have engaged with AR shopping Lenses more than 5 billion times – trying on and visualizing products from brands and retailers around the world. They rank Snapchat the #1 platform for sharing shopping moments."

This week, Snapchat has continued to evolve AR shopping by launching a suite of new offerings making AR creation simple, fast, and cost-effective for businesses.

Is JCPenny Buying Kohl's?

It has been reported that the owners of JCPenney has made an offer to purchase Kohl's for approximately $8.6 billion dollars.  The New York Post reported that Simon Property and Brookfield Asset Management have made an offer to acquire Kohl’s for $68 a share in a deal that could value the department-store chain at upwards of $8.6 billion.

Fuel & Inflation Charge Effect on Fashion Industry

Amazon announced on April 13, 2022 that they would be implementing a 5% fuel & inflation surcharge to help offset rising costs.  They will not be adding this cost direct to consumers as the fees will be charges given to third-party sellers who utilize Amazon's fulfillment services.  Although the charge is not direct to the consumer, the odds are rather good that the third party sellers will increase their cost to consumers.
