Stay Strong T-shirts for Oklahoma Disaster Relief

Last week G Wear, an eco-friendly fashion line that provides trendy, vintage t’s designed for active lifestyles, announced the launch of their “Stay Strong” printed t-shirt.  Sold through their site, http://mygwear.com/moore-ok/, G Wear Screens puts a unique twist on the usually hand stitched t’s, by making styles more affordable. 100% of profits from the “Stay Strong” t’s will be donated to the American Red Cross for the Oklahoma Disaster Relief Fund benefitting the families and victims in Moore & Shawnee, OK.
G Wear’s lead designer, Julianne Lillie, daughter of G Wear owner Michael Wilson, is based in Oklahoma, so this tragedy hit even closer to home for her and she was driven to respond quickly.

“I feel fortunate that since we are based in the US, we are able to immediately design and create a t-shirt that makes a statement but more importantly, helps our neighbors in need!” said Lillie.  “It’s times like this that we stop and reflect on the impact that certain situations have on our lives and the impact that we can have on others!”

The G Wear Screens line recently launched with rave reviews from collegiate students and sororities across the country. Screen printing on T shirts made in the USA caters to everyone's budget and allows even more “T’s with a Statement” to be available at lower prices.  G Wear saw this as opportunity to react instantly to the needs of the victims in Oklahoma. The “Stay Strong” t feature the words “We know we belong to the land and the land we belong to is grand” on the back of the t-shirt and “Stay Strong” printed across the front.  Slate in color, these impactful words are screen printed on American Apparel t-shirts and available for $15 online at www.mygwear.com/moore-ok

"In addition to honoring the fallen this Memorial Day weekend, we will also remember those who fell victim to the tornados in Oklahoma” said Michael Wilson, owner of G Wear. "Life is about doing the right thing and    we are dedicated to giving back to our neighbors in need."

G Wear began in 2008 as the vision of a local Ft. Worth, Texas fashion designer, Stanley Jackson.  His inspiration came from his young daughter, Malerie, who at 4 years old (with a little help from her Mom), stitched a heart appliqué onto a simple dime store tee shirt.  Jackson proudly wore the shirt around town and was always being stopped and asked where he got it. After telling the story over and over, he decided they might be onto something big.  He created a few sample designs using appliqués cut from recycled tee shirts.  They were an instant hit everywhere he went - hence G Wear was born.

“It’s important to G Wear to create a stylish brand that is eco-friendly and unique so we can be sure we do our part to take proper care of the world in which we live, making a better environment for our children now and in the future” says Michael Wilson, owner of G Wear. “Finding any opportunity to also give back and help those in need at the same time is a win win for all involved.”
