Rica Swimwear Collection 2013

Rica is a vibrant and sensuous swimwear collection that features extraordinary, fashion –forward pieces. The luxurious fabrics from Spain, which are hand crafted into form flattering shapes are coupled with innovative designs to offer the customer unique swimsuits and cover ups. Rica’s collections are designed for the woman who likes to feel confident in her swimsuit and walk the beach as if it were her very own runway.

Ava Sanjurjo was born and raised in the Bronx in New York City. During her childhood, she developed a love affair with fashion that stemmed from the influences of her family, from her sisters new wave ensembles to her grandmother’s colorful collection of accessories. Her work has also been heavily inspired by the bustling world around her. This includes everything from 90’s fashion photography to the local music scene. Highly focused from a young age, Ava enrolled in the renowned high school of fashion industries. Upon graduation, she went on to the world -  famous Fashion Institute of Technology where she studied under some of the brightest and most creative minds in fashion.

For the past several years, Ms. Sanjurjo has honed her skills working for large scale swim wear manufacturers. Today, Ava’s designs can be seen on almost any beach in the world as well as on a select celebrity clientele. The entire collection truly applauds and compliments the female shape and is a distinct expression of the devotion of in Ms. Sanjurjos creative and artistic spirit. The exquisite detail and high standards to which each Rica garment is held is at once apparent to any wearer of the label. The trunk show at 3NY featured pieces from Ava’s current summer collection and was an event visited by New York radio personality from Power 105.1 Angela Yee.
