Authentication Security for Clothing

Do you work for a clothing company that has an important fashion brand that needs protection from fraud?  Or possibly you are an emerging designer that wants to get a jump start on protecting your brands product and reputation.  You may want to investigate the services provided by Certilogo.  They are a Milan, Italy based company that helps clothing and footwear brand owners manage the product authentication process.

Top brands use Certilogo Codes to tag their products as authentic.  Consumers from all over the world use the Certilogo Authenticator to check the authenticity of their purchase.

Consumers that have product physically with them:

Find the Certilogo Code on the label or packaging, enter it into the Authenticator and answer a few simple questions.  Fake or Authentic?  Now you will know.  You can find the authenticator on the Certilogo website.

Consumers shopping online:

Make sure that the seller's site/listing has a Certilogo-Button.  It is suggested that you actually click the image to ensure that the button has actually been issued by Certilogo.   The product received must have the Certilogo Code.   Enter it into the Authenticator to check that the seller has in fact shipped the promised item and not any other.  Unfortunately, this method does not allow you to check the product prior to receipt, but seeing if the retailer has a Certilogo authorized button on their site is a good sign.  Be sure to double check the product after it arrives to be safe.

See fashion brands using Certilogo on their site.

Here on Apparel Search, you can also learn about clothing security tags, woven security labels, and other retail store security products and services.  Combining Certilogo and other products is a good step for any clothing brand.  Nothing is guaranteed, but these steps can help reduce false product, etc.
