Ripped jeans have been off and on trendy over the years. Apparently Levi's, believes that they are back on trend. You can currently buy new jeans with torn knees.

Inspired by you, Levi's took the 501® Jean and designed the perfect tapered fit. Wear them true to size, down-sized, or up-sized depending on your style. Choose true to size for a classic fit and tapered at the ankle. Size down for a modern, slim fit with a low-slung, easy-wear feel through the hips and thighs, or size up for a slouchy, more progressive look. Obviously, they are also currently available with rips in the knee for a distressed look if one so desires. If you prefer to create your own rips, you can obviously buy them without the tears and do it your self when you get them or let them naturally wear over time.
