Belle + Sky Fast Fashion at JCP
Belle + Sky Fast Fashion at JCP
JCPenney is eager to become more nimble in regard to the
fashion they carry. One step in the positive direction is the creation of their
new private label clothing brand Belle + Sky.
JCPenney gains a large percent of revenue from apparel. It
is essential for survival that they be able to more quickly react to new
fashions and trends. It is equally important that they can quickly drop lines
that are not performing well. Utilizing the concept of fast fashion,
in theory the retailer will be able to react to trends and change colors,
fabrics, & styles in the stores more quickly.
The JCPenney department store earlier this month started
piloting its own private label brand, “Belle + Sky”. The collection is
intended to be a line of trendy women’s wear. The plan is to produce and turn
over the styles more quickly, with a view to better compete with the fast
fashion retailers such as H&Ms, Zaras and Forever 21. It is generally
understood that faster moving retailers have stolen away customers from slower
moving department stores over the past several years.
Belle + Sky is a JCP private label brand. If you are not sure the meaning of this term, you can learn more about private label programs here on Apparel Search in our clothing industry terms section.
