Volcom Recycled Bottle Boardshorts

An estimated 5 plastic bottles are used when producing a pair of Volcom Mod-Tech boardshorts.

Volcom Mod-Tech Boardshorts, a staple in the Volcom line and refined over the years through rugged team-rider testing and critique, is proudly developed in a partnership with Repreve, a recycled fibre that is made from recycled materials including used plastic bottles.

Recycled polyester uses nearly half the energy that virgin polyester does and helps reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions during manufacturing by about 45%. This offsets the need to use new resources such as petroleum, while emitting fewer greenhouse gases.

In the past year, much of Volcom's focus has been on building their New Future roadmap, a guide that addresses their impacts, the forces behind those impacts, and the means to aggressively address what we believe is the foundation of Volcom's environmental sustainability commitment. Mod-Tech boardshorts are made for the believers of tomorrow. The eager optimists pushing for a change. And that change is included in these boardshorts showcased with the Repreve recycled fibre.
