Comfort: Fabrics made with Naia are light and cool against the skin as well as hypoallergenic. Inherent moisture management allows the fabric to stay cool and dry twice as fast as nylon. Naia has excellent dry rates (3 mL/hr) and can wick moisture away from the skin up to 7 times better than polyester.

Ease of Care: Naia has adaptable qualities that allow it to fit easily into most lifestyles, as it can be laundered at home, allows for easy stain removal (in fact, Naia releases stains from red lipstick and foundation makeup twice as effectively as polyester and nylon), has excellent wrinkle recovery, reduces odor twice as well as polyester, and does not pill easily. Naia fabrics don’t require dry cleaning and end consumers can wash Naia fabrics without fear of shrinkage or stretching.

Luxury: Fabrics made with Naia can have a high luster, shine, and drape. If the garment style demands it, Naia can also have a subtle matte finish instead. Fabrics made with Naia can be easily printed. Naia is 1.5x more lustrous than nylon.
Trends: Iconic intimate apparel trendsetter Jos Berry and print designer Ellen Haeser used Naia for its European introduction at Interfilere Paris earlier this year.

Sustainability:

- Naia’s production aligns with Eastman’s belief that the future of the fashion industry depends on responsibly-sourced and produced material.

- Naia is made from wood pulp from sustainably-harvested trees that are not endangered or from old growth forests.

- Using a near-closed loop process in the United States, Eastman assures that any waste is recycled, reused, or sold. Any water returned to source streams is treated at a high tech bioactive wastewater processing facility and repeatedly tested to ensure that the river receives safe water.

- Naia is skin friendly and hypoallergenic.

- Naia has received certification by the U.S. Department of Agriculture BioPreferred program. It is manufactured without chemicals listed on the ZDHC MRSL and holds a product Class II certification with the OEKO-TEX 100 label. It does not contain substances at levels that would require warnings by California’s prop 65.

- As part of Eastman’s efforts to improve its footprint and reduce energy and GHG intensity by 20% by 2020, Naia’s production has a carbon footprint two times smaller than cotton and nylon. Its water footprint is three times smaller and its relative energy footprint is two times smaller than cotton, nylon, and viscose.
