Space Force Uniform Design Contest
We are not talking about the t-shirts and hats sold in the Kennedy Space Center gift shop. Sure they have fabulous NASA relevant clothing, but not the type to actually wear on your next cosmic journey.
Space travel clothing may not be of urgency, but it appears we are moving closer in the direction of increased space travel. Therefore, it might be time to plan better ways to make astronauts feel more comfortable as well as stylish in space.
At the very least, it may be time to have a Space Force uniform design contest. The United States Space Force (USSF) is a proposed sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces intended to have control over military operations in outer space. The Army, Navy, Marines, etc., all have their own unique uniforms. Clearly a Space Force uniform is on the horizon. We obviously can't send the men & women of the United States Space Force into the outer limits of the galaxy if they are not looking their absolute best.
What our Space Force soldiers wear is a reflection on our nation as a whole. It will be important that the uniforms are appropriate to make a great first impression when we introduce ourselves to aliens from other regions of the galaxy.
The Space Force uniform design contest could help the government decide on appropriate colors, fabrics, and styles to be worn as the military uniform in space. Obviously a trendy insignia needs to be designed as well.
Insignia's can help display the branch of the military as well as ranking. Military rank is more than just who salutes whom. Military rank is a badge of leadership. Responsibility for personnel, equipment, and mission grows with each increase in rank.
Hopefully fashion designers are starting to think about trendy yet functional Space Force uniforms & Space Force insignia's. Apparel Search is not currently planning on creating a Space Force Uniform design contest. However, we hope that this fashion blog post inspires someone else to start such an endeavor. Such a contest may lead to the development of the official uniforms for the new Space Force.
Maybe someone from the Fashion Industry Network, will start the Space Force Uniform Design Contest in the near future.
A military uniform is the standardized dress worn by members of the armed forces and paramilitaries of various nations. Military dress and military styles have gone through great changes over the centuries from colorful and elaborate to extremely utilitarian. Military uniforms in the form of standardized and distinctive dress, intended for identification and display, are typically a sign of organised military forces equipped by a central authority.
The United States Space Force uniforms should be functionally appropriate for extreme conditions, be comfortable, and be stylish.
Astronauts wear various types of clothing for all aspects of a mission to space. Whether preparing for launch, working inside the space shuttle or the space station, working outside in space, or landing back on Earth, astronauts wear the proper garments for both comfort and protection. It is time for the fashion industry to add "style" to the list of important aspects of space travel clothing.
The Apparel Search motto, "space if for fashion, not for death ray development".
Will Space Force space ships have washing machines and dryers for doing laundry?
The future of spacewear is a very exciting concept. We are all looking forward to see what the future will bring. Hopefully it brings fabulous new uniforms.
We love what you decided to wear today. It is simply out of this world.
