Southern California design talent Lissa Zwahlen Thoeny, founder of Roxy, has launched Aquarius Cocktail, a Cali-cool brand of washed silk basics. In keeping with her signature casual sensibilities, honed from working with West coast brands such as Roxy for Quiksilver, Mossimo, Seaton and Alternative Apparel, she has elevated basics to a polished-cool.

Needing to up her own game of daily dressing, Zwahlen-Thoeny created easy pieces from laundered silk, referencing iconic styles that are staples of any t-shirt wardrobe.  The collection of t-shirts, tanks, v-necks, sweatshirts and pants are all cut from silk that was developed to mimic the way an old t-shirt feels and fits. Raw edges, frayed jersey bindings and vintage machine stitching add irreverence to the precious nature of the fabric. Colored in neutrals and soft textural dyes, the styles are ageless and can be worn throughout every season.

Bibby Financial Services Expands Support of California Apparel Industry with $2 Million in Financing to a Casual Apparel Company 

Funding Improves Company’s Ability to Meet Increasing Demand and Keep Pace with Seasonal Fashion Trends 

Bibby Financial Services (BFS) today announced a $2 million factoring facility delivered to a casual apparel company based in California.  The company provides outdoor and surfing-themed t-shirts and other apparel to specialty retailers and to consumers via bespoke e-commerce sites. The funding will boost the company’s cash flow, enabling it to take on larger inventory orders and update the clothing line each season to meet changing consumer trends. The new account is funded and managed by BFS’s office in Westlake Village, California.

The apparel company partners with local artists to design clothing inspired by California’s outdoor lifestyle. In addition to back-office support and advance payment of invoices from the factoring facility, they will also benefit from BFS’s extensive experience in the apparel industry, for which BFS has been a significant source of funding for more than a decade in North America. Notably, BFS used its commercial financing expertise and knowledge of apparel businesses to structure a flexible financing package that simplified the funding process and reduced the amount of paperwork the client was required to submit.

KAOHS Swim, a California-based swimwear company, made their second runway appearance at Miami Swim Week on Friday, July 21, 2017. They showcased their 2018 collection at the W hotel  (Wet Deck) at 10:00p.m. 

A favorite among influencers like Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Bella  Hadid, Rocky Barnes, Alexis Ren, Pia Mia, Natasha Oakley, and more, KAOHS rocked the runway at this year’s Swim Week. 

Indah Swimwear Collection at SWIMMIAMI

Indah debuted its MAGIC CARPET RIDE  collection at SWIMMIAMI at the Vintro Tent on Sunday, July 23, 2017 to a jam packed crowd of leading editors, buyers and celebrity influencers who are die-hard fans of the line including Helen Owen, Alyssa Lynch, Caroline Einhoff, Bridget Baul, Kaitlynn Carter, Whitney Fransway, Madison Louch, Vale Gente, and more.

The MAGIC CARPET RIDE collection was  simultaneously live-steamed  on the company’s website in order to promote the brand’s first foray into the  “see now-buy now”  movement as  12 of the boho-chic pieces pieces became available for purchase the moment they were shown live on the models! 

In this spirit of Indonesian beauty, Indah featured the sexy defining bohemian flair meets vintage Vogue aesthetic that they are known for, while introducing new, color patterns and prints. “This collection will allow you to find yourself in Ibiza in 1977 with a flower in your hair and a cocktail in your hand,” explained DeSantis. Forever a free spirit, DeSantis’ designs feature exotic influences from both her home in Bali as well as inspiration from her travels around the world.

California-based swimwear brand, Baes and Bikinis,  showcased their 2018 collection at the W South Beach Wet Deck during Miami Swim Week on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017.  

Inspired by the Greek Islands, the Bahamas, Hawaii and Malibu, Baes and Bikinis debuted a sexy swimwear line with plenty of knits, crochet, and delicate details. The collection combined imported soft fabrics and seamless comfort to encompass the lifestyle of the perfect low cut island bikini mixed with a flirty Malibu fit.

Denim under $100 should bring a smile to your face.

This August, over 40 of Vietnam’s best apparel manufacturers and fashion resources will be at the forefront of the SOURCING at MAGIC show.  Show attendees will have the opportunity to see textiles, fibers, and garments from these Vietnamese factories, and chat with representatives. 

WHY THE FOCUS ON VIETNAM

• According to a forecast by PricewaterhouseCoopers in February 2017, Vietnam may be the fastest-growing of the world's economies, with a potential annual GDP growth rate of about 5.2%. This is partially due to the boom in jobs linked to growth in export manufacturing of textiles and garment products to over 180 countries and territories.

• Since Vietnam launched it’s economic renewal campaign to lift the country out of poverty in 1986 and normalized trade relations in the U.S. in 2000, Vietnam has been able to export to a wider range of markets, rapidly expand exports in the manufacturing sector, has become an investment destination because of its large and capable workforce (population of 91 million +), and labor and operating costs remain low compared to China.

• Vietnam is THE sourcing destination.
