AllSaints Handbag Collection

THE COLLECTION
August 27th, 2014 sees the exclusive launch of AllSaints’ debut women’s bag collection in the new Las Vegas Caesars store. Highlighting the brand’s commitment to design-led innovation and quality craftsmanship, the 17-piece collection includes all in-demand bag categories, including the clutch, shoulder bag, tote, shopping bag, backpack and card holder - each piece made from premium Italian leather. Caesars will continue to be the only Las Vegas store to stock the collection in its entirety.

THE INSPIRATION
The collection, The Biker Project Part II: The Handbag,
builds on Part I which saw the brand create a limited edition collection of iconic biker jackets. The influence of the biker is reflected in the bags’ double-studded bespoke pullers and shiny gun metal hardware detailing, and in the palette of black, grey and military camouflage.
WIL BEEDLE, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
“Launching this debut bag collection has allowed us to take the attitude and craftsmanship so key to our iconic AllSaints biker jackets, and translate it into the aspirational and essential accessories of our everyday lives. We’re really excited at the prospect of these bags accompanying the lives of the AllSaints women across the globe.”

AVAILABILITY
The full 17 piece collection will be available on AllSaints.com and in limited stores worldwide including Regent Street, London; Soho, NYC; Beverly Drive, LA and Caesars, LV.

ABOUT ALLSAINTS
Founded in London in 1994, AllSaints creates design-led clothing for men and women. The brand expresses attitude and individuality through a strong digital presence, deep-rooted links to music, and its film division, AllSaints Studios. AllSaints has 119 stores in 10 countries

Mulberry Brand Opens Store in Las Vegas

To celebrate its first Las Vegas store opening which was on Aug. 1, 2014 Mulberry has created a capsule collection of stunning limited edition embellished pieces, available exclusively in Las Vegas at Mulberry inside The Forum Shops. A sumptuous black suede clutch, called the Clemmie, is studded with dozens of gunmetal rivets for a truly statement bag. Four classic and exquisitely tailored black dresses are decorated with beading and glass crystal, adding a touch of glamour inspired by an artistic floral motif. A pair of striking embellished high heel sandals completes the look. The Forum Shops store is the first Mulberry store in North America to feature a new store design concept. Inspired by Mulberry’s roots in the English countryside the design uses color and textures inspired by natural materials. Hand-carved and untreated oak is used for shelving, and Somerset limestone is used for the floor, laid out in the style of traditional parquet flooring and reminiscent of traditional English country houses. The store is divided into areas for a calm and elegant shopping environment, with neutral colors allowing the products to stand out. Mulberry commissioned British leather artist Genevieve Bennett to create a stunning collection of leather wall tiles carved out in beautiful tonal leather, of course inspired by Mulberry’s heritage of leather craftsmanship. The Forum shops location features Mulberry’s first ever wall of ‘falling leaves’, taken from the iconic Mulberry tree logo to create a subtle and elegant pattern on a feature wall for all to see.
Here is a view of The Forum Shops at Caesars so you can gain a sense of the glamour.

MAGIC Trade Show Trends for August 2014

Hal Rubenstein, Guest Fashion Director at WWDMAGIC, shares his top trends to watch for on the MAGIC floor this August.

Outerwear

After a brutal winter in most areas in the country, outerwear is more important than ever! Outerwear with drama is becoming the “go-to” investment piece. Say goodbye to simple and neutral, great outerwear makes a statement and fashionistas need one that will leave a lasting impression.

Leather

The leather trend is not going anywhere. From coats to dresses, pencil skirts to blazers – leather in all different tones is here to stay!

Bold Colors & Prints

Bold floral prints were here for the spring and are staying throughout the next few seasons! Women are not afraid to wear bold prints and intense colors, so they will be seen now more than ever. Rich hues that are more womanly than girly will make their way into closets everywhere.

Relaxed Tailoring

From loose fit trousers to a chic cocoon coat, traditional tailoring with softened silhouettes will be plenty.  An ease of style and comfort is especially important and offers an understated sense of luxury.

Mini Skirts

Warm or cold weather, abbreviated hem lengths are back in a big way and will be lasting a few more seasons! This classic wardrobe staple is completely versatile – dressed up with pumps or down with sneakers – miniskirts are here to stay!

The above trend thoughts are from Guest Fashion Director at WWDMAGIC and Designer of the Hal Rubenstein Collection for HSN.  Hal will be heading to Las Vegas this coming August 18th to 20th to attend MAGIC.  You should keep your eye out for him to learn more about the Hal Rubenstein Collection for HSN.

Reducing the Textile Industry Environmental Footprint

Sourcing at MAGIC will focus on Eco Sustainable Denim Manufacturing and Denim Trends.

There is huge interest in conserving resources and reducing the textile industry’s environmental footprint. Most importantly, the use of water, energy, and chemicals (WEC) in textile processing is an area where technological advances offer big savings in resources and environmental benefits. See Cotton Inc report.

In cotton textile processing (the leading material used for DENIM), dyeing and finishing have the largest WEC requirements and offer the greatest scope for reductions. The cotton textile industry can reduce its WEC environmental footprint at least 50% by employing technologies currently used in modern plants.

SOURCING at MAGIC’s “ALL ABOUT DENIM” area will showcase new technologies, washes and innovations in denim and allow attendees to meet with suppliers from fiber to fabric to finished garments and we’ll highlight importance of ECO SUSTAINABILITY!   The area will include the leading companies from around the world representing the entire supply chain for denim in one location.  Come and see:

  • An installation by Jeanologia that will illustrate the various washes in eco sustainable denim manufacturing such as:
    • E-soft: the zero discharge technology –  Waterless Eflow treated denim and knits for softness, easy care or water repellency
    • Big Mac – Jeanologia’s water extracting technology – high efficiency extracting Big Mac technology
    • Laser technology for lasered looks
    • Ozone technology for Ozone fade-down looks
    • Cotton University presented by Cotton Inc. will offer denim specific information:
      • Coatings with several different finishes from Soko, Dinex and Tonello
      • Foil prints
      • Fade to color concept – space dyed warp yarn that is indigo dyed from Nisshinbo
      • Cationic/Colored denim – bull denim made with a cationic dyeable warp yarn – will garment dye jean samples with different colors
      • AztexTrend Area showcasing the latest trends in denim fashions washes and fashions, among them:
        • New garment dyed techniques such as shibori and acid washes
        • New recycled yarn denims
        • Rigid and stretch denim and PFD, new ways to wash, coat and embellish
        • Digital printed denim
SOURCING at MAGIC's focus on denim for the August 2014 show is on your radar. From August 17 - 20th, the single most important sourcing event in North America will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition to providing all the necessary production resources to attendees, it also serves as a forum where some of the industry's most important brands converge to gain insight into market trends, innovative technologies and important industry intelligence. This year, SOURCING will focus on 'All About Denim' - a first in the show's 9 yr inception, and a testament that although denim has evolved, it has withstood the test of time.

Below are a few highlights for the 'All About Denim' focus:
  • Visit the leading companies from around the world representing the entire supply chain for denim in one location
  • Featuring exhibits and seminars by Cotton Inc. and Jeanologia
  • Exhibitors will showcase new technology, washes and innovations in denim and meet with other suppliers from fiber to fabric to finished garments
  • Learn about the importance of eco sustainability
  • Examples of what will be present in the denim focus area: recycled cotton and polyester components in fabric, sustainable technology using 90% less water and recycled water, novelty denim fabrics, chambray, organic cotton, etc.

Splash of Summer Color at Caesars

A summer full of color is on the horizon and The Forum Shops at Caesars has the perfect items for the ideal pop of seasonal hues.

pink dressWhite Tophandbag in yellow

White – This season, white is a color and it’s a must-have. For an abundance of versatile looks, at the top of the list is the Pakize shirt at Anne Fontaine. A loose shirt in stretch poplin with short sleeves and concealed buttoning, the asymmetrical flat tail at the front can be buttoned at the collar or shoulder for a ruffle effect. For more variety, the ruffle may be attached at three different points on the blouse for multiple styling options.

Sunflower – The newest neutral, this sunny share pairs nicely with a variety of hues from blushes to black. Use it as a pop of color and energy with a sunny yellow bag, tote, shoe or bracelet. The Carlyle Satchel at Henri Bendel is a stylish designer handbag that makes a stunning fashion statement.

Dazzling Blue – It’s ok to have the blue’s this season – a variety of shades of blue that is. From royal to peacock to turquoise, shades of blue can be both bold and muted. For a stunningly-stylish look, Diane Von Furstenberg has the Bevin Ceramic Sheath Dress in Blue Diamond that is the perfect dress for both work and evening.

Leaf Green - Inspired by the spring garden, varying shades of green and botanical-themed prints are right on trend. Tory Burch has recently welcomed new arrivals featuring the leaf green and white color palette providing a variety of fresh looks. Anthropologie has the Rosae Tank in a green motif that is a great casually-stylish look for summer.

Poppy and Coral – Find the chic and lightweight Tria dress at Elie Tahari. The vibrant sleeveless, crepe Tria mixes two of this season’s most popular hues for a striking look in subtly contrasting colors.

Known as “The Shopping Wonder of the World,” The Forum Shops are a must-see, all-encompassing experience at Caesars Palace. Known (maybe start this out differently since you did it for the first sentence) as Vegas’s original luxury shopping destination, the massive shopping mall includes approximately 160 stores, brand name restaurants and attractions. Its lauded designer stores such as Louis Vuitton, Versace, Christian Dior, Valentino and Gucci represent some of the biggest names in fashion.
