By the way, the term Mexican blanket can refer to many styles of blankets popular in both Mexican and Southwestern cultures. People often use Saltillo serape, Falsa blanket, Navajo blanket, and Rio Grande blanket interchangeably, but there are differences.

The narrow Mexican blankets often referred to as serapes, or sarapes, are often used in a variety of ways.  In addition to being worn by men or women, draped across the shoulders they may also be placed on the floor to serve as a mat for sitting or even sleeping.  These blankets may be worn as ponchos. Mexican blankets were also used as saddle blankets and were sometimes hung in doorways to separate rooms.  Very versatile items.

They were there to greet two dogs that had travelled all the way from Sochi, Russia, with E! News Olympics correspondent Ali Fedotowsky, and to help find loving homes for them.
