SwimShow Breaks Records in Miami Beach

Showing that bigger is better when it comes to celebrating swimwear, the 32nd annual Swimwear Association of Florida’s SwimShow witnessed a 15 percent attendance increase as the show expanded to a full 550,000 square feet of exhibition space taking up all four halls of the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The annual SwimShow, which took place July 19-22, 2014 in Miami Beach, FL, with the support of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, is the largest and longest- running event of its kind, bringing together designers, vendors and swimwear buyers from across the globe, helping swimwear lovers to find and enjoy the latest looks in the coming months. The expanded show included a variety of exciting new brands, positive reaction to the new layout and larger space for women’s, men’s and kids’ swimwear.

“Always the highlight of the swim season, we were thrilled to introduce a bigger and better-than-ever SwimShow in Miami Beach this year. We welcomed new designers, a new floor plan and new enthusiasm over the course of four action-packed days and nights, celebrating the best of what this show and industry have to offer,” said Judy Stein, Executive Director of the Swimwear Association of Florida.

This July nearly 10,000 people from 60 countries attended the SwimShow, enjoying seminars on swimwear and lifestyle trends from PeclersParis, the world’s top forecasting agency, an exclusive swimwear fashion show and featured amenities that included a dry and braid bar, nail salon for quick touch-ups, mini-massages, a metallic tattoo bar, an art portraiture bar, photo booths and a tech lounge with a selfie station. And most importantly this year’s show incorporated more space to look, mingle and appreciate the biggest selection of swimwear brands under one roof.

“The show this year was phenomenal for PilyQ. We exhibited in an area where people could walk in and truly understand our brand. As a new label that was important to us. Everyone loved the constant variety of food. We saw over 172 buyers at the show and in a four day period – that is exceptional for us. There is no other platform of for us to see the same variety of buyers from around the world in such a short amount of time,” said Amber Delecce, owner of PilyQ Swimwear.

Recognized as the most important swimwear tradeshow in the world, SwimShow is the premier resource for buyers from all swimwear categories, and caters to designer boutiques, resort shops, specialty stores, surf shops, department stores, mass merchants and more. This global trade show includes buyers, manufacturers, designers, corporate personnel, press, bloggers, fashion consultants, stylists and other fashion industry leaders.

“Miami Beach is the perfect location for this one-of-a-kind event and we always enjoy making a splash with swimwear on the east coast,” said Stein. “The 2014 show brought the house down from start to finish, showcasing style, color, creativity and fun. Proving once again that ‘Swimwear begins in Miami Beach!’”

Brands featured this year include: 120% Lino, A. Che, Agua Bendita, Agua de Coco, ále by Alessandra, Amuse, Angel & Miosotti, Ank, Anna Kosturova, Badgley Mischka, Barraca Chic, BCBGeneration, Beach Bunny, Beach Riot, Betsey Johnson, Cecilia Prado Mare, Cia Maritima, Despi, Dfly, Eberjey, Gottex, Gypsy 05, Hipanema, Hope, Jen's Pirate Booty, L*Space, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Lenny Niemeyer, LeSwim, Letarte, Maaji, Magaschoni, Maryan Mehlhorn, Melissa Odabash, Meskita, Milly, Mink Pink, Nanette Lepore, O’Neill, OndadeMar, Robyn Lawley, Seafolly, Shoshanna, Tory Burch, Trina Turk, Vitamin A, Wildfox, and many more.
