Global Artisan Village and Handmade Boutique

These past few years we’ve seen a surge in brands made by artisans and a rise in globally-inspired fashion. From handmade jewelry by artisans in Africa or hand-knit sweaters from Peru – the global artisan has made their way into the Western landscape and has made their mark as an entrepreneur. This February, MAGIC, the world’s largest fashion marketplace for apparel and accessories, has raised the bar once again. They’ve used their global retail platform as an opportunity to bring artisans and artisanally made brands in. This will ultimately allow the opportunity for these brands to expand their businesses along with their knowledge and network within the retail industry.

Below you will find some additional info on the newest areas on the MAGIC show floor. 

Global Artisan Village in SOURCING @ MAGIC:

Here attendees will find over 1,500 exhibitors from 30+ countries on the SOURCING at MAGIC show floor, but where do you turn for unique, one of a kind culture-based products? The SOURCING at MAGIC show floor will house a cultural emporium exclusively dedicated to global artisans. Artists from around the world have been invited to showcase their unique, one of a kind and culture-based products. Indigenous communities will promote their arts and crafts – think Alpaca knits from Peru, metalwork from Africa and textiles from India.

Ripped Jeans But Their New Jeans

Ripped jeans have been off and on trendy over the years.  Apparently Levi's, believes that they are back on trend.  You can currently buy new jeans with torn knees.

Malin Akerman was photographed wearing STRÖM Brand and Brevity Jewelry this weekend! The actress was spotted arriving at LAX rocking her Nio Blackbird jeans ($189; www.strombrand.com) as well as her custom Sebastian Calligraphy necklace ($195; www.brevityjewelry.com) before catching a flight to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Malin Maria Åkerman is a Swedish Canadian actress, model and singer. She is best known as an actress, first making appearances in several Canadian productions. In the early 2000s, she had many television and film parts, including The Utopian Society (2003) and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004). Following a supporting role on the comedy series The Comeback (2005), Åkerman gained her first starring roles in the feature films The Heartbreak Kid (2007) and 27 Dresses (2008).

In 2012, she has had a recurring role on the sitcom Suburgatory and starred in the short-lived ABC comedy series Trophy Wife from 2013 to 2014.
