“Everyone deserves to have all the pleasure their bodies are capable of,” said Chrystal. “Enjoy your body right now! Don’t put your life on hold waiting until you lose another 50 pounds. Go out, have fun, enjoy it!”
The show opens on a birthday celebration introducing the colorful cast of characters and weaves through their lives throughout the season, culminating in the annual Curvy Girl Lingerie Fashion Show. Episodes include a Curvy Girl pole dance class, game nights, boudoir photo shoots, dinner parties with Fat Activists and more.
There is no place in Plus Life for depressed characters who hate their bodies or their lives, are dieting, cleansing or try to squeeze themselves into Spanx. Rather, Plus Life is an unapologetic salute to people of size who are body confident and happy in their own skin. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t drama! In addition to showcasing plus-sized women in a positive light, Plus Life shows the negative affects of the haters that the cast of characters encounter daily.
“For whatever reason, some people really hate fat people,” explained Chrystal. “And the minute you're trying to be fat and happy? Oh, that makes them really mad. But I'm never going to stop helping women to feel sexy and beautiful. Why would I? Because someone else doesn't like it? They can kiss my fat ass. Contrary to popular belief, there is no skinny girl inside me dying to get out. This is me. This is all I got. Living for today, not for some version of me that does not exist.”
