The Intimate Apparel Journal July 2016

The Intimate Apparel Journal announced the launch of its July 2016 issue. The main focus of the journal is to provide information on the technical, supply chain and sustainability issues that affect the industry.  Here is a brief example, of what you can find.
IAJ's mission is to make the journal an invaluable tool for the intimate apparel industry for learning, training, sharing and assisting one another.

IAJ is issued 4 times a year, and is available in two versions: flip page and pdf. It is also distributed to select educational institutions for the use of students of fashion design and production.

The July 2016 issue of IAJ includes the following articles and much more:
  • From Prints to Pixels by Luis Paredes
Through Luis's writing we learn that he started in journalism and that his motto is"inform and inspire." I hope we can work closely with him in the future and carry more of his fashion reports and well-reported stories.
  • Minimiser Bras by David Morris
What constitutes a minimizer bra? It creates an effect that can reduce the full breast measurement by 1". It's unusual to have this information, especially since the bra is only available in the U.S. and UK, and only carried by major brands.
  • Simone's Room with a View: AW2017/2018 Preview of Lingerie Trends and Directions by Simone Gerschitzka
This is the time of year when designers make their forecast trends and colors for Autumn/Winter of 2017. Simone's suggestions can be used as a reference for those who are studying design since it's quite informative.
  • Pattern Drafting with Adobe Illustrator by Hannah Sharples
Adobe Illustrator is a tool widely used by design professionals. Hannah shows us the first step by constructing a detailed measurement chart by flat measuring the sample.
  • Country Report: Indonesia by Andrew Sia
Indonesia is next in our continuing series. Indonesia has a population of 255 million and the highest GDP among the ASEAN countries. It has the largest pool of young labor, which will be helpful for the country in developing its manufacturing industry.
