Wait until November to discuss Black Friday deals.

Is it every too early to start discussing black Friday sales deals?  Yes, it actually is possible to be too early.  The reality is the some clothing stores start to mentally prepare consumers & promote holiday sales events such as Black Friday in October.  In our opinion, that is too early.  The fashion police should probably make it illegal to start an "after Thanksgiving sale" in October.

Now that it is officially November, promoting Black Friday fashion is fair game.

First of all, we truly hope you have enjoyed your shopping yesterday, but please understand that the selling spree has not yet come to a close.  Black Friday is done, but we still have all weekend to shop.  Even better, Cyber Monday is just around the corner.

Regarding this blog post, let me be clear by saying that the reports on how selling went on Black Friday are still trickling in.  Therefore, I am not going to be giving specific facts (or "estimated" sort of facts) in this particular article.  It is currently the early morning after Black Friday.  So it is not so easy to gather the facts yet.  When finding information on various websites it is important to understand that the reports were written very late last night or extremely early this morning.  I wonder how tired the journalists are when they are writing the articles and calculating the sales numbers...

For example of early morning writting, Black Friday Shopping: Tales From the Front Lines on The New York Times appears to have been written at 1:27AM (Sure, I don't know what time zone the author is in).  The article begins, "The unofficial start of the holiday shopping season began on Thursday, when many national retailers opened their doors and offered major sales. It kicked into high gear on Friday, when many more stores entered the fray.".  It goes on to provide stories of shoppers, shopping deals, and a brief history about Black Friday.

It is a frenzy for the media companies to report on the Black Friday sales results and I know you are looking forward to hearing if this was a positive or negative day for the fashion industry.  After we have time to review the data and read thru various sales reports we will be adding information about yesterdays selling in our Black Friday Sales Reports section.

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States.  It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States (yes, that is today). 

If you live in Canada, you know that Canadians also celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada (sorry, your day has already passed).

By the way, don't forget that tomorrow is "Black Friday".  That is a very important day for the fashion industry.  Make sure to tell your family and friends that they should only by clothing, shoes, beauty products, or fashion accessories on Black Friday.
