MAGIC is just a week away and the excitement for the upcoming show is building!  We are excited to share that actor, Blair Underwood, will be heading to Sin City to launch his new men’s shoe collection, Q by Blair Underwood, in collaboration with famed footwear designer, Pasquale. The line focuses on designing well-made, yet accessible luxury footwear that allows men to express their personal style. Featuring a modern design with an edge, Q by Blair Underwood is ​made in Italy​ and exemplifies Italian craftsmanship. 

In honor of the collection debut, Blair Underwood will host a meet-and-greet at the Pasquale booth (#83119) on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 1-2pm.

Here is portion of a question and answer interview (between FN PLATFORM and Blair):

Congrats on the launch of your new collection, Q by Blair Underwood! How did this collaboration with Pasquale come about? Were you a fan of Pasquale’s before the collaboration? 

I did not know Pasquale prior to this collaboration. I was approached about the idea of creating a high-end shoe line with Pasquale, who is a master craftsman in the footwear arena. In recent years, I had a successful clothing line called, ‘The BU Collection.’ I enjoyed the creativity, artistry and challenge of the apparel business. From that experience, I remembered how important shoes were/are to customers. In many cases, more-so than the outfit itself. Shoes are the foundation of any ensemble, especially for menswear. I found this opportunity to be the next phase in my maturation and exploration into the world of fashion.

Did you always know you wanted to get into footwear?

Not until my experience with ‘The BU Collection.’ Also, after meeting Pasquale, I found that his expertise and passion for all things shoes, was infectious.

Driving Shoes

What does driving and walking have in common?  Obviously they both help you get around.  Take that a "step" further and they also have footwear in common.  Introducing the Car Shoe.  No, it is not new, but maybe it is new to you.

Car Shoe was founded in 1963 by Gianni Mostile, whose passion for racing cars led him to design handmade moccasins made from very soft leather and soles set on tiny rubber studs to enhance adherence to car pedals and were particularly suitable for driving sports cars. The Car Shoe driving shoe design was awarded a registered patent from the Italian Ministry of Trade and Industry in 1964 which has since expired. The brand has since become an Italian classic for driving shoes, known for its technical-design originality with high-quality leather and handmade craftsmanship.

If this show was new in 2017, we would have considered it as one of the best shoes of 2017.  It wasn't designed this year, but the good news is you can still buy them this year.
