The Birkin Bag Price

Would you like to own one?  We believe it is worth the price... Do you?
Pink Birkin Bag
The Birkin bag also known simply as ’Birkin’, is one of the most iconic and coveted handbags in the world. Handmade in France by expert artisans, using the finest leather from different French tanners, each Birkin is hand-sewn, buffed, painted, and polished.  The manufacturing process takes several days to finish a single bag. A genuine Birkin bag is beautiful, timeless, elegant, and will last its owner a lifetime.  In fact, it can potentially be past down from generation to generation.

This exquisite handbag is produced by Hermès.

The bag is a symbol of wealth due to its high price and usage by celebrities.  The cost escalates depending on the type of materials.  We have heard prices between $7,400 to $150,000 for a single unit.

Birkin bags are sold in a range of sizes. Each one may be made to order with different customer-chosen hides, color, and hardware fixtures. There are other individual options, such as diamond-encrusting. The bag also has a variety of hides.  The metallic hardware (the lock, keys, buckle hardware, and base studs) are plated with gold or palladium to prevent tarnishing.

Did you know that it was names after actress and singer Jane Birkin?

In 1981, Hermès chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas was seated next to Jane Birkin on a flight from Paris to London. She had just placed her straw bag in the overhead compartment of her seat, but the contents fell to the deck, leaving her to scramble to replace them. Birkin explained to Dumas that it had been difficult to find a leather weekend bag she liked. In 1984, he created a black supple leather bag for her, based on an 1892 design. She used the bag for herself then later changed her mind because she was carrying too many things in it: “What’s the use of having a second one?” she laughs. “You only need one and that busts your arm; they’re bloody heavy. I’m going to have to have an operation for tendonitis in the shoulder.”   Nevertheless, the bag has since become an icon.

Actress and Singer Jane Birkin
If you are not familiar with Jane, here is a brief summary of her career.  Birkin emerged in the Swinging London scene of the 1960s, appearing briefly in the 1966 film Blowup, and as the fantasy-like model in the psychedelic Wonderwall from 1968. That same year, she auditioned in France for the lead female role in Slogan. Though she did not speak French, she won the role. She co-starred with Serge Gainsbourg, and performed with him on the film's theme song, "La chanson de slogan" — the first of many collaborations between the two. In 1969, she and Gainsbourg released the duet "Je t'aime... moi non plus" ("I love you... me neither"). Gainsbourg originally wrote the song for Brigitte Bardot. The song caused a scandal for its sexual explicitness, and was banned by radio stations in Italy, Spain, and the UK.  She took a break from acting in 1971–72, but returned as Brigitte Bardot's lover in Don Juan, or If Don Juan Were a Woman in 1973.  In 1975, she appeared in Gainsbourg's first film, Je t'aime... moi non plus, which created a stir for frank examination of sexual ambiguity. For this performance she was nominated for a Best Actress César Award.  Birkin in 1985 Birkin appeared in the Agatha Christie films Death on the Nile (1978) and Evil Under the Sun (1982), and recorded several albums, including Baby Alone in Babylone, Amours des Feintes, Lolita Go Home and Rendez-vous. She won Female Artist of the Year in the 1992 Victoires de la Musique.  She had many additional accomplishments, but we will not mention them now because this fashion blog post is about the bag and not the actress.
Do you know how to tell the difference between a Hermes Birkin handbag and a Hermes Kelly handbag?

Visible difference between the Hermès Birkin and Hermès Kelly handbag. The easiest way to identify the difference between the handbags is the handles. The single handle handbag is the Kelly, and the Birkin has two handles.
Although the Birkin bag is free of logos, it is one of the most recognized bags in the fashion industry and by the public.
