In years past, the evening wear category has been “confined”
to structured satin designs, bulky ball gowns, and constricting corsets. These
days, though, fearless fashionistas are more impressed with comfort and
versatility versus formality – and design houses are embracing this shift in
dress decorum with more wearable solutions. For the David’s Bridal design team,
easy-fit fabrics like matte crepe, matte charmeuse and corded lace
(which avoid heavy seaming and structure) were a major area of focus for the
Fall 2014 bridesmaid and special occasion collections. From floor-length sheaths
to high-low hemlines on looser silhouettes: functionality is right on par with
fashion-forwardness with these new design debuts.
Women can feel just as confident dressing “after dark” with
on-trend, nicely priced gowns that were designed with wearability in mind. These offerings are
currently available in David’s Bridal stores and online!
