CA Identification Number Canada Apparel
One of the tools that they use to keep the market fair is a CA Identification Number for Apparel or textile products.
The CA Identification Number is also occasionally referenced as a CA Number or CA # in the garment industry.
The basic operating assumption of the Competition Bureau is that competition is good for both business and consumers. One of the purposes of the CA # is so that consumers can identify the supplier of a particular textile product that they have purchased or intend to purchase.
Consumer textile products in Canada should be labeled with the full name and address of the dealer or a CA Identification #.
Similar to the Canadian process, the USA has what is called a RN #. Learn about the Registered Identification Number process for the United States. It is important to note that the registration numbers for both counties are completely separate. Each country has a different business registration process and different textile labeling requirements. If you are doing business in either country, be sure to visit the appropriate government website for each country to learn all the most current requirements for garment labeling.
Thank you for taking the time to read our fashion industry blog post. This particular post is geared toward manufacturers and wholesalers that distribute clothing, shoes, and fashion accessories for the Canadian market. Product made with textiles.
