Say No to High-waisted Bikini
Say No to High-waisted Bikini
Temperatures are rising and so are waistlines on bikini bottoms. A throwback
from the 1950s, the high-waisted bikini, is once again rearing it’s ugly head in
beaches and pools across the world. While fashionistas may love this retro
style, it seems an overwhelming majority of men wished this classic never made a
comeback.
Popularized by magazine editors and stars like Taylor Swift, the high-waisted bikini is all the rage among young women the world over. But how does the retro style fair among guys? Travel-dating site, MissTravel.com polled men to see how they feel about the hot new trend, results reveal an overwhelming 80 percent of men hate it.
The itsy-bitsy teenie weenie bikini has reigned supreme for decades, recently however, a conservative bikini throwback has gained popularity among women. The high-waisted bikini has been featured all over magazine editorials, resort runways and Instagram posts. While ladies may be ready to hit the beach in this retro trend, many men rue the day the style ever came back in vogue.
With bikini season underway, travel-dating website MissTravel.com conducted a poll among men in the U.S. to see exactly how they felt about the high-waisted bikini. Results of the survey reveal an overwhelming majority of men hate the trend, with 80 percent of more than 43,000 respondents expressing their dislike for the style.
Men’s View of High Waisted Bikini (according to more than 43,875 respondents)
Hate It: 80 Percent
Indifferent: 16 Percent
Love It: 4 Percent
“Many times there is a clear divide between the fashion world and the real world, and this is clearly one of those instances,” said Brandon Wade, CEO and founder of MissTravel.com. “Men love to see a woman’s body, and this style covers up some of the most attractive parts of their anatomy.”
Fashion is fun and there is no harm in trying out new
styles, but those who are looking for a bit of summer lovin’ might want to avoid
this trend.
