iovado Biometric Technology Shoes

We wanted to introduce you to luxury quality shoes for less. Iovado shoes are the first in the world to use biometric technology to create the ultimate luxury shoe that fits the exact shape of your foot. All you have to do is take a few photos of your foot, using their app to get the perfect measurements. Iovado then makes a 3D printed model of your foot to create the shoe around.
Iovado shoes are manufactured by the same hands that create top brand luxury shoes such as Chanel, Fendi, etc. Iovado uses the same pricing transparency that Everlane is known for. You shouldn’t spend an exorbitant amount of money on shoes that don’t even fit your foot. Each Iovado shoe is crafted, dyed, and burnished by hand so you are left with only the most unique pair.

Nike 3-D Printed Cleat Plate

Nike continues to push the limits of innovation in many areas of fashion and footwear.  They previously have debuted football cleats built using 3D printing technology. The Nike Vapor HyperAgility Cleat, built for the shuttle drill (or 5-10-5), has taken innovation and athlete agility to a new level.  In the quest to help make athletes better, Nike has been working toward accelerating the footwear manufacturing process through 3D printing technology.

The Nike Vapor HyperAgility cleat, born from Nike’s “Shuttle Project,” took innovation and traditional footwear manufacturing to a new level.  In addition to linear speed, the game of football requires agility and lateral quickness.  The mastery of these skills is seen on a grand stage as pro scouts clock athlete’s “shuttle” or “5-10-5” drill times in order to assess them for game-time ability.  Optimal traction on turf, reducing deceleration time, and traction confidence, are all critical requirements when “cutting” or changing direction quickly.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a 3D printing technology that uses high-powered lasers to fuse small particles of materials into a 3-dimentional shape. Traditionally this process is used for prototyping, but through proprietary material selection, Nike was again able to create fully functional plate and traction system in a fraction of the traditional timeframe and at a fraction of the weight.  Once again, 3D printing has revolutionized the way Nike designs and manufactures footwear, allowing designers to make updates within hours, instead of months, to truly accelerate the innovation process.

3D Printed Shoes Progressing

If you have not been living under a rock, you have most likely heard about 3-D printing and how it is beginning to take hold in the apparel industry.  In addition to 3D printing clothing and fashion accessories, the footwear industry is also using the relatively new printing technique to manufacturer shoes and footwear insoles.

3D printing is progressively changing the way that we can buy our shoes.  Companies are starting to look into it more because it’s a great method for mass-market distribution and customizable products.  Custom insoles and orthotics are among the common products being produced and we’re seeing companies like Nike and New Balance taking part in this.  Other companies such as Wiivv and SOLS have tapped into the orthotics market.  In the future we could see many other companies such as 3DShoes joining in with orthopedics. Comfort and customization are essential for consumer attention.

So, where do we turn to learn more about 3-D printed shoes and footwear accessories.

3DShoes.com is the newest fashion trend in footwear.  3DShoes.com creates shoes by a three dimensional printer using an additive process where layers of materials are laid one on top of another.

3DSHOES.com has become one the world’s most recognizable 3D Shoes eCommerce platforms for Companies, Celebrities, Designers, Enthusiasts to list their digital and wearable products and will continue to grow with demand and finished designs and partnerships.  They connect customers with 3D Printing Downloads, 3D Printed Shoe Designers For Your Own Brand, 3D Printed Products, 3D Printed Shoes and more.

adidas Futurecraft 3D Running Shoes

On October 7, 2015 adidas unveiled the future of performance footwear with Futurecraft 3D, a unique 3D-printed running shoe midsole which can be tailored to the cushioning needs of an individual’s foot.  The 3D concept is part of the ‘Futurecraft series’, a forward-looking initiative that places open source collaboration and craftsmanship at the heart of design to drive innovation across all elements of production.

adidas has created a unique combination of material and process.  The production breakthrough will take the running shoe standard to the next level, offering unprecedented individualized support and cushioning for every foot, to enable athletes to perform at their best.
Creating a flexible, fully breathable carbon copy of the athlete’s own footprint, matching exact contours and pressure points, it will set the athlete up for the best running experience. Linked with existing data sourcing and footscan technologies, it opens unique opportunities for immediate in-store fittings.

Imagine walking into an adidas store, running briefly on a treadmill and instantly getting a 3D-printed running shoe – this is the ambition of the adidas 3D-printed midsole.

Their 3D-printed midsole not only allows us to make a great running shoe, but also to use performance data to drive truly bespoke experiences, meeting the needs of any athlete.

True to the Futurecraft vision of creative collaboration, Futurecraft 3D is possible through an open source partnership with Materialise, a pioneer and leading specialist in 3D printing.

After some time looking through some emerging materials to use, they discovered a truly perfect and unique material: modified thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).  TPU can deliver performance.  It’s brand-new in the marketplace and convinced them with its durable elasticity as well as high tear strength and abrasion resistance.  They quickly applied this material to the most suitable printing method – Laser Sintering, a process that is so accurate that they could create almost any design.

The panel presentation, titled “How is 3D Technology Disrupting the Fashion/Apparel/Footwear World?,”  will explore a range of far reaching apparel development issues including the foundations needed  to launch a successful 3D product visualization platform and how to import physical fabric properties into the latest PLM and CAD solutions.

“We’ll also identify some of the companies that are successfully integrating 3D technology into their existing processes and explain how they are doing this.”

Other panel topics include:
