FN PLATFORM Emerging Designers to Watch

As you know, FN PLATFORM will be taking place in Las Vegas this coming August 14th-16th, 2017. While there’s tons to be excited about with the upcoming show, one new area we wanted to give you a heads up on is the new ‘Emerging Designers’ showcase at FN PLATFORM. This is the debut of the showcase at FN PLATFORM and will feature six promising designers hand-selected by FN PLATFORM executives.  The showcase’ participating designers include: Tiannia Barnes, Becki Coackley, Anniel, Frou Frouz, Fringe by Ella & Rubi and Chelsea Paris.

Becki Coackley

Becki Coakley is a shoe brand that was born from two desires:   to create finely detailed and striking shoes and to be a vessel for women to display their sensuality and elegance simultaneously. Becki sees the woman that wears the Becki Coakley shoe brand as one that is confident and isn’t afraid to be different by adding some flair to herself.  She is a go-getter that may have power meetings all day long but leaves to enjoy happy hour or a night out on the town.  She may also be a woman that goes from a lunch date to running errands all over town confidently wearing her Becki Coakley shoes. Becki Coakley combines simplistic, elegant, timeless, and eye catching details to make exquisite shoe designs for the sophisticated and chic woman.

Cityzen by Azin has Out of this World Fashion

Cityzen by Azin designer Azin Valy uses NASA satellite imagery of the world’s capitals printed on the finest fabrics and materials to create women’s and men’s apparel and accessories.  The process merges art, culture, geography, fashion and photography into high concept global style.

Azin utilizes her award-winning architectural expertise from her previous career to match topographical details in the NASA imagery to specific details on her designs.  The Tiber River appears as a thin ribbon in the satellite image and forms a strap on the “Rome” dress.  The Zagros mountain range becomes the gathered neckline of the “Teheran” dress.  Closer to home, the George Washington Bridge straddles the front and back of the “New York” dress establishing distinct New York and New Jersey sides.
New York & New Jersey Satellite Imagery Dress
According to Valy, “Cityzen blends the human form with the urban landscape to link people to the places they love the most.”  Each item includes a hangtag with a mini-map and travel guide to the hippest places and events in the city represented in the design.
Available from the Cityzen online shop and at select specialty stores in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington, DC, New York, New Jersey and around the country, men’s scarves and pocket squares make up around 25% of her business. Scarves start at $185 with made-to-order dresses from $1,000 and bags beginning at $800.

The dresses pictured above have satellite images of New York & NJ.  You can now understand how to wear New York as well as learn about the New York fashion industry here on Apparel Search.
