Cynthia Rowley was honored as Designer of the Year at the 2015 AAFA American Image Awards last evening in New York City. The designer stunned in the Oversized Floral Lace Shift Dress ($450) from her Spring 2015 Collection as she posed for photos on the red carpet with her award. Actress Jill Hennessey was also a vision in red, donning a Cynthia Rowley Bonded Seamed Detailed Dress ($375) from the same collection at the event (www.cynthiarowley.com).

Cynthia Rowley F/W 2015 Screening Party

Zosia Mamet, Jenette McCurdy, Rocsi Diaz, Kathrine Herzer, Natalie Off Duty's Natalie Suarez, This Time Tomorrow's Krystal Bick and Viva Luxury's Annabelle Fleur attended the Cynthia Rowley F/W 2015 Screening Party during New York Fashion Week. Celebrities, bloggers and guests mingled with the designer as she celebrated her Fall/Winter 2015 collection. Zosia Mamet donned a Cynthia Rowley Fall 2015 Dress (price available upon request), Jenette McCurdy looked winter ready in her Cynthia Rowley Angora Sweater in White ($325), Rocsi Diaz shined in Cynthia Rowley Bonded Flare Pant in Galaxy Print ($275), and actress, Kathrine Herzer looked stunning in the designer's Bonded Camisole in White ($185).  Top fashion bloggers, Natalie Suarez from Natalie Off Duty looked effortlessly cool in her Cynthia Rowley Bonded Flare Pant in Galaxy Print ($275), Krystal Bick from This Time Tomorrow dazzled in the designer's Lace T in White/Black ($250) and Lace Pencil Skirt ($325), as well as Viva Luxury's Annabelle Fleur looked pretty in her Cynthia Rowley Jacquard Blazer ($495), Jacquard Mini Skirt With Lace Trim ($275), and Jacquard Flutter Sleeve Top ($265; www.cynthiarowley.com).

Cynthia Rowley Workout-Wear Added to Resort 2015

After establishing a name in the surf-wear category, Cynthia Rowley is taking the concept to a whole new level for Resort 2015, adding workout-wear to the mix. "It's functional fitness gear," said the designer of the new range, which is developed in-house and fashioned out of a bonded fabric that feels lighter and more luxurious than neoprene.

Rowley envisions her customer wearing these sporty separates for surfing, running, or SoulCycling, and then pairing them with ready-to-wear pieces for other occasions. For the lookbook, which was shot in a gym, Rowley styled the activewear with pretty, embellished pieces. A digital-print floral sweatshirt and matching leggings were paired with a feather skirt. White flares went with a floral rash guard and topped off with an embellished vest. Rowley even designed 1-pound wrist weights that resemble chunky leather bracelets. Influences from 1970s are present throughout the collection, however the high-tech ideas buffer the retro leanings.


Many designers are currently turning activewear into fashion, yet Rowley may be at the forefront with her metallic racing-stripe leggings and floral sneakers.  "All the lines are blurred," she said. And if this collection was meant to help blur them even further, she's on the right path.

Zosia Mamet wore Cynthia Rowley recently at the Sundance Institute Celebration in NYC! The Girls star looked chic and sophisticated in the Crepe Ribbon Slip Dress in Cream from the Spring 2014 Collection ($279, www.cynthiarowley.com).

Zosia Russell Mamet is an American actress, who has appeared in television series including Mad Men, United States of Tara and Parenthood and as Shoshanna Shapiro on the HBO original series Girls.

Cynthia Rowley constructed her first dress when she was seven years old. Her intuitive technical skill paired with a love of “making things” led her to an undergraduate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she began to pursue a career in fashion. Her first full collection was purchased while she was still in school, and gave her the leverage she needed to move to New York and establish her brand.

Rowley’s namesake collection has since grown to include womenswear, menswear, eyewear, handbags, shoes, legwear, shapewear, wetsuits, as well as collaborations with Johnson & Johnson, and Procter and Gamble, to name a few.
