According to a recent article on Fast Co. (5 New Solutions for the Fashion Industry's Sustainability Problem), as much as 15% of fabric ends up trashed in the process of making clothes and it can take more than 20,000 liters of water to grow enough cotton for a single pair of jeans. These are just a couple of alarming stats that the fashion industry is up against but good news is that many brands and organizations are laser focused on this sustainability issue and are coming up with solutions.
