Closet Confessions Video on Bluefly Starring Tegan and Sara

Indie rock stars, Tegan and Sara, show off their tour closet and edgy style in the latest installment of leading e-retailer Bluefly’s popular video series, Closet Confessions. The Canadian singer-songwriter sisters are known for their infectious tunes but are also widely followed for their distinctive looks. Filming from their trailer at New York’s Pier 26 in the midst of a popular tour with fellow alt-pop band, fun. they showcase a wardrobe of eclectic, ‘90s –tinged apparel for a video that’s full of street style inspiration.

The guitar-toting duo’s Closet Confessions episode launching on Bluefly’s website September 16, shows an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at what makes the musicians’ outfits sing on stage. “We have this whole thing: The photo will last forever, but the discomfort will last only as long as the set,” says Sara about her ensembles that include leather jackets in the heat of summer. The resulting vibe is impossibly cool, downtown style with an androgynous bent—a look that’s quickly gaining popularity both in the streets and on the runways.

“A lot of brands are tailoring their clothes to look a little more gender neutral,” Tegan enthuses. “When skinny jeans started happening [we were] stoked. High-waisted pants? Into it.” Their favorites from their collective closet include printed leggings to wear with leather jackets and oversized tees, chunky Dr. Martens and acid wash denim that harken to the ‘90s, and Miu Miu studded lime green sneakers—all components for the perfect rocker-chic closet. Luckily for everyone’s inner rocker, Tegan and Sara are also taking over Bluefly’s sister site, Belle & Clive, to curate a collection of covetable items like studded clutches and printed skinnies, so that anyone can achieve their indie darling look.

The award-winning Closet Confessions seriesfound at Bluefly.com/Closets—was launched by premiere online retailer Bluefly in April 2010 to give customers exclusive, insider looks into the personal wardrobes of fashion’s biggest and brightest. It has since gathered a strong cult following amassing more than 3 million views of the videos to date.
