Anya Engel Adams Emerging

With another addition to the “Spike Lee Joints”, a new star has been named to emerge in Hollywood as a contender for the throne belonging to Halle Berry & Angelina Jolie. Spike Lee’s recent most movie, “Chiraq”, is due to be released this Christmas. The movie is starred by popular Hollywood heavyweights including John Cusack, Samuel Adams and Angela Bassett along with the new face, Engel Adams A.K.A Anya, who has managed to create quite the buzz in Hollywood as the new it girl. 

She can be a movie star or fashion model in our opinion.

Anya has been anticipated to be the next big female leading movie star with her role in the movie of popular American director, producer, writer and actor, Spike Lee. There is much buzz around the performance of Anya or Anya Engel Adams in the movie and there is much anticipation for the movie itself. Spike Lee is known to make movies based on controversial social and political issues and accepting a new talent in a drama such as that has always been looked upon as quite an impossible task by Hollywood in general.

Having Spike Lee handpick her has certainly added to the buzz surrounding her debut but there has also never been as much anticipation for a debutante’s performance in a movie as hers for a long time now, in Tinseltown.

Does the Pursuit of High Fashion Put You at Risk for an Eating Disorder?

According Stanford psychologist Dr. Megan Jones, who also serves as Chief Science Officer of Lantern  — the groundbreaking mobile tool that helps prevent the onset of eating disorders — many eating disorders begin with modest attempts to lose weight that can quickly spiral out of control.

Herself an eating disorder survivor while a college student, Dr. Jones says that in a quest to look fashionable and slim like the models on Fashion Week catwalks, many teenage girls and women adopt thinking patterns that put them at great risk for future body image and eating control issues.

So could you be at risk for a “subclinical” eating disorder without even knowing it?  Here are six warning signs:

>>  WARNING SIGN #1:
You describe fat as a "feeling."

>>  WARNING SIGN #2:
You eat a limited variety of foods or become a vegetarian to restrict food intake.

>>  WARNING SIGN #3:
You avoid eating meals or snacks when other people are around.

>>  WARNING SIGN #4:
You constantly calculate the amount of fat, carbs, or calories you're eating.

>>  WARNING SIGN #5:
You feel ashamed, disgusted, or guilty after eating.

>>  WARNING SIGN #6:
You dream of having the body attributes of friends, models, or celebrities.

With New York Fashion Week in full swing and National Eating Disorders Awareness week starting on Feb. 22, 2015.

Brad Kroenig Male Fashion Model

Brad Kroenig knows what kind of plane Lagerfeld travels on because he has flown on it often. As the most senior and prominent member of a group of male models often referred to as Karl’s Boys, Brad not only works for Chanel and Fendi, the fashion houses where Lagerfeld is the head designer, but also accompanies him on yearly vacations to St. Tropez and work trips and to parties worldwide. He has been photographed with Lagerfeld so often that gossip blogs have mistakenly identified him as the designer’s boyfriend, but their relationship is not romantic.

Brad began to appear in Fendi and Chanel ads almost every season. In the past decade, he has been shot by Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, Craig McDean and, months before his death, Richard Avedon. In 2004 Brad was named the top male model by Models.com, a site that releases rankings for the industry, and held the title for three years. Since Brad’s arrival, Lagerfeld’s entourage has grown to include the British model Jake Davies, 34, and Baptiste Giabiconi, a 25-year-old from the south of France with a striking resemblance to a younger Lagerfeld. Together, they’ve become a part of the designer’s provocative image, trailing him as he exits cars and boats and planes.

When Brad is not traveling with Lagerfeld, he can be found in Wyckoff, N.J., a wealthy enclave in Bergen County, which is perhaps best known as the home of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

Suki Waterhouse High-Low Dress

While celebrating Poppy Delevingne’s Moroccan wedding festivities, Suki Waterhouse wore an orange, high-low dress with floral mesh detail from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection by Alberta Ferretti.

Suki Waterhouse also known as Suki Alice, is a British model and actress. Waterhouse began her modelling career after being discovered in a pub in London when she was 16. When she was 19, her first noted campaign was as a lingerie model for Marks and Spencer. She has since modelled for Alice + Olivia and Coast. In February 2013, she featured in Vogue Magazine's Today I'm Wearing feature.

She is a face of Burberry, helping launch the brand's new male fragrance in October 2013. Waterhouse has also modelled for brands like Swatch, Lucy in Disguise, H&M, Max Studio, Caterina Gatta and Pepe Jeans.

For those of you that are not that familiar, Doutzen Kroes is a Dutch model and actress, who is a Victoria's Secret Angel. She started working for the brand in 2004 and became an Angel in 2008. She is on contract with L'Oréal. In 2012 she came in fifth on the Forbes top-earning models list, estimated to have earned $6.9 million in one year.

Candice Swanepoel is a South African model best known for her work with Victoria's Secret.

Elena Foley Stylish in Joanna Mastroianni

Did you see the stunning ELENA FOLEY on the red carpet last night at the Dom Hemingway NYC Premiere with Jude Law.  She was wearing a stunning aqua JOANNA MASTROIANNI dress and bag.

It is rather good timing that she wore this beautiful dress.  The color was aqua, which is not too far off from turquoise.  The other day, we pointed out that this is an attractive and trendy color for Spring 2014 (now).

Elena is a runway model superstar, a favorite of Joanna Mastroianni, she closed her show last September for NYFW in this striking orange gown.

Philosophy Worn Splendidly by Fashion Savvy

Anya Ziourova, Hanneli Mustaparta, Tennessee Thomas, Zani Gugelmann wore Philosophy by Natalie Ratabesi while attending the designer’s fall-winter 2014 show in New York.

Anya Ziourova began her career in the offices of American Vogue. It was not long after that she was offered a full-time position as Fashion Assistant and subsequently Fashion Stylist at Japanese and Chinese Vogue. During this period of time, Anya was also asked to contribute to Conde Nast's newly launched Russian Tatler. In 2009 she was announced as their Fashion Director and in Fall 2012 she was also named Creative Fashion Consultant for Allure Russia.  Anya consults for various fashion brands including Kmart, Ben Sherman as well as one of the UK's largest department stores, John Lewis. She has also worked with celebrities including; Sharon Stone, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey, Marina Abramovic, Sofia Vergara, Diane Kruger, Mia Wasikowska, Katy Perry, Monica Bellucci, and Camilla Belle.

Born in Oslo, Norway, Hanneli Mustaparta was scouted in the street by a photographer for the iconic Norwegian fashion and culture magazine F Jorde. If you are not already aware, she was scouted to be a fashion model...  It was a move to Paris that furthered her career which was later followed by a move to New York in 2004.  In 2008, she decided to step back from modeling to become focus on a career as a stylist.  She is also an accomplished photographer.  

Zani Guglemann, is a jewelry designer originating in Peru.  Her Filigrana collection is all about her family roots in Peru – but it is her new Santo collection that is a means of self-expression about how she lives in New York. Dangerously beautiful, Guglemann's filigree pieces are fantastic.  Zani Guglemann is also a fashion model.

Among other things, Tennessee Thomas is an actress known for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), Orla Kiely Spring Summer 2012 (2011) and 90210 (2008).  She is a British-born drummer and actress.  Her father is Pete Thomas, drummer for Elvis Costello and the Attractions.
